The Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep, also known as "Schwarznasenschaf" in German, originated in the Valais region of Switzerland.

The breed developed in the mountainous regions of Switzerland, where it adapted to the harsh climate and rugged terrain. 

CHARACTERISTICS

Valais Blacknose sheep are easily recognizable by their unique appearance. They have striking black markings on their nose, eyes, ears, knees, and feet, which contrast with their predominantly white wool.

The distinctive black facial markings earned them the nickname "the cutest sheep in the world."
