ORIGIN

  • The Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep, also known as "Schwarznasenschaf" in German, originated in the Valais region of Switzerland.

  • The breed developed in the mountainous regions of Switzerland, where it adapted to the harsh climate and rugged terrain.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Valais Blacknose sheep are easily recognizable by their unique appearance. They have striking black markings on their nose, eyes, ears, knees, and feet, which contrast with their predominantly white wool.

  • The distinctive black facial markings earned them the nickname "the cutest sheep in the world."
